Bill Conti scored the music for "Rise Up With Pride for Washington," the grand prize winner in the UW's "Song of Washington" lyrics contest. The Husky band will play the song publicly for the first time at the Nov. 8 Arizona State football game. On the University of Washington website you can heart version with vocalist.

To commemorate its 50th anniversary, the UCLA Alumni Association commissioned a new fight song. After a contest soliciting lyrics from students and alumni, composer Bill Conti chose the winning lyrics (from Barbara Lamb and Don Holley) and wrote the music to "Mighty Bruins" (lyrics). The song made its public debut in fall 1984 at the Stanford football game, with Conti conducting the UCLA Marching Band.
